*Grand Inauguration of KMC Alumni Welfare Association (KMC-AWA)*
The Kakatiya Medical College Alumni Welfare Association (KMC-AWA) marked a significant milestone with the grand inauguration of its newly constituted committee, held on Sunday at the NRI Auditorium, Kakatiya Medical College.
The ceremony witnessed the formal installation of the association’s leadership, with eminent cardiologist Dr. Kasturi Sridhar assuming charge as President. Dr. George Reddy took charge as General Secretary, while Dr. H. Sandhya Rani assumed office as Vice President. Other office bearers and executive committee members also formally undertook their respective roles.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Hon’ble MLA of Manakondur and an esteemed alumnus of the institution, who congratulated the newly elected committee and appreciated their vision for the development of the college. The programme was further honoured by the presence of Dr. S. Sandhya, Principal of Kakatiya Medical College, and Dr. Harish Chandra Reddy, Superintendent of MGM Hospital, as distinguished guests.
A notable highlight of the event was the groundbreaking ceremony (Bhoomi Pooja) for the reconstruction and modernization of the Central Library, symbolizing the association’s commitment towards strengthening academic infrastructure. In a remarkable gesture of support, Dr. Kasturi Sridhar announced a personal contribution of ₹10 lakhs towards the library development, which received widespread appreciation.
Addressing the gathering, the newly installed committee assured their unwavering support and active involvement in the overall growth and advancement of Kakatiya Medical College. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from alumni across batches, faculty members, and current students, reflecting the strong bond and collective spirit of the KMC fraternity.

*Renovation of Central Library Commences at KMC*
The renovation works of the Central Library at Kakatiya Medical College commenced yesterday with a traditional inaugural pooja ceremony, marking the beginning of a significant developmental initiative aimed at enhancing academic infrastructure.
The ceremony was graciously led by the Principal, Dr. S. Sandhya, in the presence of Vice Principal, Dr. Ram Kumar Reddy, along with Dr. Kasturi Sridhar, President of the KMC Alumni Welfare Association, and esteemed members of the association.
This renovation project reflects the institution’s continued commitment to providing a modern, resource-rich learning environment for students and faculty. In a generous gesture supporting this initiative, Dr. Kasturi Sridhar announced an initial personal contribution of ₹10 lakhs towards the development of the Central Library, in addition to the existing renovation budget.
The Central Library, being a cornerstone of academic excellence, is set to undergo comprehensive upgrades that will further strengthen its role as a hub for knowledge, research, and innovation within the institution.
In view of the peak summer, Dr. S. Sandhya Ma’am, Principal KMC, has initiated a Free Water Center (Chalivendram) near Y Junction, KMC, for patients visiting the Super Speciality Hospital.
This thoughtful initiative is quenching the thirst of many patients and their attendants, offering much-needed relief in the scorching heat.
On 26th April , CME was conducted in the KMC OBG Department as an initiative of AMA (Advanced MedTech Academy) in collaboration with Fernandez Hospital. The topic was a workshop on the repair of 3rd and 4th degree perineal tears, conducted by experts from Fernandez Hospital. After Gandhi Hospital, our prestigious college got the opportunity to conduct this CME with the permission of our beloved Principal madam
*Blood Donation Camp at KMC on the Occasion of 62nd Convocation*
On the occasion of the 62nd Convocation, Kakatiya Medical College organized a blood donation camp, reflecting the spirit of service and social responsibility among its students. The camp was conducted at the AC Conference Hall under the aegis of the 2020 batch and the Medicos Blood Donors Club.
The program was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Sandhya, and the Vice Principal, Dr. Ram Kumar Reddy. Demonstrating commendable dedication, a total of 62 medical students voluntarily donated blood, contributing to a noble cause.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal, Dr. Sandhya, stated,
“As medical students, our responsibility goes beyond academics. Serving society in times of need is the true essence of our profession, and blood donation is one of the most meaningful ways to save lives.”
The blood collected through this camp will serve as a vital resource for patients in need, especially during emergencies. The event was carried out with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of humanitarian commitment, adding significance to the convocation celebrations.
1st Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) provider course for house surgeons is being organised by Indian Resuscitation Council Federation at Skill centre, KMC from 21april-25april.
